PERSPECTIVE INTERUPTED
I, sometimes, go to the mountains knowing that I will experience something but not necessarily what exactly it might be. Recently, I went up into the San Gabriel Mountains to do some location scouting. The weather from the previous day was clearing but there was a chance for something cool, I thought to myself. As I drove higher into the mountains, I could see it clearing revealing the typical vast view of the mountain range. The fog below me, I was washed in the light of the afternoon sun. It was nice and the temp was perfect. I found my spot. Excited, I began back down. What happened in that time was something remarkable. The fog had begun to top some of the mountain washing over the Leland side like water over the falls. It was incredible. I stopped to explore and found something spectacular. On the face, maybe one might just see fog and a darkening sky. I saw a raw beauty in a burnt forest. Crawled alongside the mountain to find these ghosts in the wild. Beauty can be found in the most remarkable ways if we are open to new ways to see the world.
